CHILDREN COLLIDE’S SWORD TAKES HOLD TOUR SUPPORTS ANNOUNCED

It’s been just over a week since CHILDREN COLLIDE unleashed their Kraut-Disco influenced track Sword to a Gunfight on the world and the Melbourne trio have well and truly hit the ground running in 2012. Last week Sword to a Gunfight became the number 1 track added to Australian alternative radio as well as being the 8th most added track to all radio nationally. The dark and creepy music video that accompanies Sword to a Gunfight has also received wide acclaim and was the number 1 most added video at Australian music television.
Taking all this in their stride Children Collide are ready to get down and do what they do best – hit the road for their huge Sword to a Gunfight Tour throughout March and April. The 16 date national tour will take in a swag of capital cities dates as well as some special regional stops along the way at Ferntree Gully, Frankston, Byron Bay, Coffs Harbour, Wollongong, Mandurah, Fremantle and Ballarat.
The boys are stoked to finally announce the bands and good mates who will be joining them on the road for the Sword to a Gunfight Tour this March and April. First up it gives us great pleasure to let you know that the Sydney based psychedelic indiepop swordsmen from DEEP SEA ARCADE will be filling the role of main support on all Sword to a Gunfight Tour dates. DEEP SEA ARCADE ‘s current single ‘Girls’ has been making huge waves at radio the past couple of months and their live shows supporting it have been wowing crowds all over the country.
Filling the opening duties for the tour will be Sydney seemingly indie newcomers PALMS. Lets be completely honest here, these boys are anything but newcomers featuring former members from indie trendsetters Red Riders; Al Grigg (singer, guitarist) and Tom Wallace (drummer, girlish backing vocals). The boys from PALMS have just unleashed their brand new single ‘The Summer Is Done With Us’ at radio and are ready to hit this road with their old friends from CHILDREN COLLIDE and DEEP SEA ARCADE.
In other exciting news CHILDREN COLLIDE have been announced as playing a FREE ALL AGES EVENT for Channel [V] as a part of the 2012 Australian Open of Surfing. The gig will take place on the shores of the beautiful Manly Beach on Saturday the 18th of February and the Collide boys will take the stage along side another massive yet to be announced band and STONEFIELD.
With everything now in place CHILDREN COLLIDE are now ready to pack up their gear and hit the road to bring you a taste of their brand new album. Tickets for the Sword to a Gunfight Tour go on Sale on Thursday the 2nd of February and the album we have all been waiting to hear will be with you in late April.
